The Vanishing Life And Films OF Emmanuel Escobada (Nemo 2)
George The Baker (Nemo 5)
Des says:
These two stories are by different authors yet, in some intangible way, they are by the same author called Anonymous.
It was never the purpose of Nemonymous to present authors who intended to remain anonymous beyond the late-labelling or denemonisation stage. Yet, I feel proud this has happened in these two cases. Both stories deserve honours. I feel both would have received honours had they not chosen to remain anonymous.
The second story above was indeed offered an honour should it denemonise. This story (much to my surprise) was compared in a review to 'Eraserhead' but now I know what that reviewer meant. Similar yet so different.
The first story actually did gain an honour despite its permanent anonymity:

How I Am Getting On:
I haven't done much writing since the Nemo publication (though I'm
told that an anthology with one of my stories is still forthcoming -
and I made that sale at least a year before being accepted to Nemo).
Writing is still something I do on a regular basis, only for the last
2 years it has been research-related writing as I complete a doctoral
degree in educational leadership. I am hoping to be able to get back
to fiction when I get through this process which takes up a large
part of my time.
What Difference (if any) Nemo made:
The Nemo experience was great, probably the most validation I have
had that something I'd written was good (or at least that it appealed
to Des!). It also helped me realize that I do have a voice. My sister
called me to tell me that she thought someone had plagiarized me or
was trying to write like me, but she couldn't tell me who because the
author wasn't named in the story she was reading. It turned out she
was reading my story in Nemo!
I'm looking forward to reading the next issue.
