Thing-in-Itself / Janet Hetherington

========================================
THING-IN-ITSELF

During the listing of all the writers involved in Nemonymous, I would here like to make mention of those behind the thing-in-itself, firstly myself: DF Lewis (http://www.weirdmonger.com) as Nemo's conceiver/ publisher/ editor/ distributor/ publicist/ financier.

Garry Nurrish designed the covers for Nemos 1 & 2, thus important in crystallising its initial image. He lived in Australia then, and as I understand it now, in the UK.

JaNell Golden created the gold coin artwork on the cover of Nemo 3 (already participant in this series of post-Nemo bios).

Using a creative & practical interpretation of my requirements, Andy Cox has been intrinsic to the excellent press that Nemo has received for itself as an objective thing-of-beauty-in-the-hand: being cover & text printer/ internal designer/ typesetter/ for all Nemos.
Andy is keyman at Interzone / The Third Alternative (Black Static) - http://www.ttapress.com

JANET HETHERINGTON
A Spot Of Tea (Nemo 2)

Janet Hetherington is a writer and cartoonist with a degree in

Nemonymous 2, where her short story "A Spot of Tea" appears, Janet's
short fiction has been published in "Bell, Book & Beyond: An
Anthology of Witchy Tales", "Midnight Rose" and "Spooks!"

Janet drew on her background as a journalist to research the wartime
history that serves as a backdrop to "A Spot of Tea." The story went
through several rewrites before the ending was satisfactory enough
for submission.

Janet tends to write (and draw) more comedic pieces in her other
work. Janet is the creator of the "Eternal Romance" comic book,
collected into the "Eternally Yours: Illustrated Stories of Eternal
Romance" book in 2000 (Best Destiny). Her comics scripting regularly
appears in "Elvira, Mistress of the Dark" monthly comic book from
Claypool Comics. Janet has been writing Elvira for six years, and her
comics writing and artwork has appeared in many other comics
publications. She recently completed a romance comics
script, "Dangerous Seductions," for Arrow Publications, to be
published online at http://www.MyRomanceStory.com, in August 2006.
Janet also completed the poster artwork for a new zombie horror
comedy film, "My Dead Girlfriend" (Brett Kelly Entertainment), to be
released on DVD in October 2006.

Janet has written for "Animation" magazine, and currently contributes
to Animation World Network (http://www.awn.com) and VFXWorld.com. She
is former Editor of the Canadian Toy Testing Council's "Toy Report"
(http://www.toy-testing,org) and former Managing Editor of
WizardWorld.com, a comic book news website. Janet currently works as
an Editor with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, and continues to
freelance.

Janet is a 1999 Aurora Award winner for excellence in Canadian
science fiction and fantasy. She has served as a judge for comics'
prestigious Eisner Awards (1997) and for the Canada Council for the
Arts (2003). She is a member of the Friends of Lulu organization (a
non-profit group that supports female creators) and the Ottawa
Science Fiction Society.

Janet resides in Ottawa, where she shares a studio with artist Ronn
Sutton (http://www.ronnsutton.com). To find out more about
Hetherington/Sutton Studio, visit http://www.best-destiny.com

(Hint: If you want to "Google" Janet, type in her name both as
Hetherington and Heatherington. People may spell it wrong, but the
cheques still get cashed.)
