Lida Broadhurst / Tom Williams

========================================================

LIDA BROADHURST
Balafer de Vie (Nemo 1)

Des says:

I have not been able to contact Lida.

Googling her name gives a handy summary of her work that spreads
widely over time.

I first encountered her name during the heady days of 'Scavenger's
Newsletter.'

Her denemonisation 'speech' in 2002 said: "My prose and poetry arise
from looking at suburban life, cats and family through a twisted
mirror."

She also said something of which Nemo has been very proud: "What more
can you ask from an editor than a quick response, magazine published
as promised, payment and contributor copy arriving propmptly. And
one of the best looking magazines I have ever seen. The rectangular
shape was also easier to hold."

Maybe I've gone downhill since then! She took no account of my later
trouble-shooting and a year with a blank edition! Still we struggle
on. And Nemo 7 is fixed firmly on the horizon.

There are still eleven writers to go in this series of post-Nemo bios.

TOM WILLIAMS
The Sleeping Beauty (Nemo 3)

I'd just like to say that Nemonymous was the start of
a roller coaster ride for me. Unfortunately, I can't
say that.

Since that period, I've been concentrating on the more
long term tasks of writing novels and novellas. None,
unfortunately, have sold to date, but if you happen to
know a publisher who wants a YA SF novel...

In any event, appearing in Nemonymous remains a career
high point. It is perhaps the closest I've come to
writing a good story. If 'Sleeping Beauty' is as good
as it ever gets for me, then I won't be too
disappointed! I won't stop trying to better it,
however, and hope Des keeps producing his fine
publication, so that I can prove passing its high
entry standards wasn't a one-off fluke.
